For my adventures into rendering stuff, I'll be using Carrara and/or Bryce, both of which are available from Daz3d.com. I found some links on getting up to speed with using these applications:
Tutorials for Carrara

Tutorials for Bryce

I'd like to keep this list updated with other sites that have tutorials on using either of these tools. Leave a comment on if you find a great site!

What the "W" Means
The "W" in the blog title stands for "Wicked". Lately I've been using that word very frequently as an adjective for awesome stuff I see. Anyway, just thought you'd like to know why I chose that. Plus, it sounds wicked cool. I'm cheesy like that.
Welcome!
Hey all, I'm writing the blog on my adventures in graphics rendering. I'm a newbie at graphics work in general, but I hope to someday make fantastic works of art. My ambitions are to create 3D scenes including still-shots and full-motion video. The tools I'm learning to use are Daz's Bryce and Carrara rendering applications. If you know of any others (that are free) drop me an email or comment!
I will post screen-grabs of the works that I make. Hopefully I can dig up the creative artist gene hiding somewhere in my DNA.
Edit: One thing I will definitely do is post how to's and tricks that I pick up in performing graphics effects on the things I render or cool works of art other's have contributed. I view this blog as mainly being a hobby thing.
